ABOUT ME

I have dedicated every action in my life to civic engagement, political advocacy and serving my community. Despite coming from a non-traditional educational household, I have always used education to assist me in reaching my aspirations.

It was not until 8th grade that I walked up the steps of the California State Capital building where I received a sense of excitement for the opportunities that lied ahead of me to become a difference maker in the world. For a young kid from the Central Valley of California, the world expanded for me, and I was awakened with a fresh sense of optimism.

From then on, I have used my leadership capabilities to shape me into an individual determined to make a difference and leave a positive impact on people's lives.

This new sense of self-empowerment fueled my motivation to run and become an AS Senator at UCSB. I continued to expand my leadership experience and served my community by becoming a Policy Intern for Isla Vista’s local government, the Community Services District, and also become a Director for UCSB First, a student-run organization at UCSB that promotes philanthropy and giving back.

Just as I walked up the California State Capital’s steps in 8th grade, I walked up the steps of our National Capital Hill in Washington D.C. this past Summer as I had the privilege of interning for the third most influential lobbying agency, AIPAC. I served in the Political Department at AIPAC by compiling weekly reports on public officials, attended meetings with candidates running for federal office, and organized networking events for Washington D.C. interns to learn more about Middle Eastern affairs.

I would be honored to put my passion for civic and political engagement to work in a field that enables me to make a difference in people's lives and be a voice that represents people in the political arena through policy creation.
